Hi Fofo,
The purpose of the PEBC Evaluating Exam is to evaluate the pharmacy knowledge you obtained during your pharmacy degree to ensure it is of a standard equivalent to that of Canadian pharmacy degrees. As such the Evaluating Exam Syllabus provided is a guide to the subjects the PEBC expect students to have covered. This syllabus does not necessarily indicate that you will be examined on every subject listed. When allotting time to subject areas to study, bear in mind the weighting of that subject area in the exam. The breakdown of marks for each subject area is outlined in the PEBC Evaluating Examination Blueprint of Subject Areas.
For instance the subject of Glycolysis is a small part of biochemistry which the PEBC lists under the larger subject area of Biomedical Sciences. In the Evaluating Exam Biomedical Sciences is worth 25% of the paper however Pharmaceutical Sciences is worth 35% and Pharmacy Practice is worth 30%. So what I am saying is, by all means cover the subjects list in the Evaluating Exam Syllabus but be careful not to become bogged down studying subjects in depth when they may not account for much of your marks on the paper.
Areas such as Glycolysis are worth re-familiarizing yourself with, but you most likely, for instance, do not necessarily need to learn every step in all of the glycolytic pathways. Concentrate your efforts on on your weak subject areas, especially those in the areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice.
If you are looking for more information on these subject areas then you will need to refer to other text books. Check out the post "The Basic Sciences" for a list of books which cover subjects or more detail than the review books.
Sorry I can't be more specific, I hope this helps.
Mat
