Hi everyone!
I am currently preparing for the OSCE's coming up this May and I came across this patient scenario:
Paitent is unable to swallow tablets and you have to administer Eltroxine and a Metoprolol SR tablet. Nurse asks the pharmacist what to do??
Does anyone know how they would go about solving a situation like this?? I know metoprolol can not be crushed as it is a SR formulation, but are we supposed to recommend ulternative options in addition to the volume to be dissolved in if the drugs were to be administered IV??
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks :)
